Discovery NotesSoil sample was taken behind Theobald Hall on NY Tech campus by the base of a fallen tree. The soil was moist and contained a collection of dirt, leaves and moss.

The sample was processed by enrichment to get plaques what were very large and clear.

This phage was collected to serve as a class positive control sample for the Fall 2019 Discovery section.
Naming NotesThe plaques formed by the phage are very large and clear (lytic) and remind me of the circular clearings made on with an erasure tool in computer drawing/image editing software, because it looks like the phage is erasing the plate.
