| Discovery Notes | Soil sample was taken behind Theobald Hall on NY Tech campus by the base of a fallen tree. The soil was moist and contained a collection of dirt, leaves and moss.
The sample was processed by enrichment to get plaques what were very large and clear.
This phage was collected to serve as a class positive control sample for the Fall 2019 Discovery section. |
| Naming Notes | The plaques formed by the phage are very large and clear (lytic) and remind me of the circular clearings made on with an erasure tool in computer drawing/image editing software, because it looks like the phage is erasing the plate. |
