Discovery NotesSoil was collected on September 6, 2024, near a pond rich with reeds and different plant species. The soil appeared dry and had a grainy texture. The outdoor temperature at the time of the soil collection was about 15.6 degrees Celsius. The sample was carefully obtained by digging about 60 millimeters into the ground. From this depth, approximately 15 millimeters of soil was collected. The soil collected was dry, had a granular composition, and contained organic matter from the surrounding plants.
Naming NotesMy bacteriophage was named "Skelbel" as a tribute to my family's roots. It combines the names of my parents' hometowns, Skeldon and Belvedere, in Guyana.
