| Discovery Notes | This phage was found on 1/28/16 in a flower bed outside of the Cathedral of Learning the University of Pittsburgh campus. No plants were currently growing within the bed. The temperature during discovery was 43 degrees celcius and had been cloudy the past 24 hours. There were minimal snow showers around the time of harvesting and there was no snow cover in the flowerbed. |
| Naming Notes | Named after 2004 "Survivor" contestant Rupert Boneham. This phage survived mass contamination of an enrichment so I figured it was appropriate to name it after a fan favorite on the television show where surviving is the means of winning. |
