Discovery NotesI collected the soil on September 6, 2015. It was 92 degrees F outside and very humid. The soil I collected was wet and rich with organic material, it contained a small amount of clay.
Naming NotesThe name of this phage came from a German myth about a woman who threw herself into a river after being heartbroken. She was then transformed into a water spirit that lured men to their death. I chose to use the name because my phage was very distinctive and had a tendency to completely lyse plates so I decided the name was appropriate.
