| Discovery Notes | Collected Soil Sample underneath an unknown tree in the parking lot of CVS at 8:26pm. The soil was in a flower bed that had trees and an ivy like short bush plant that covered all the soil except for where the soil sample was taken. The soil was not very rich and moist, but it was still a dark color. It is very fine soil, and there were pieces of trash (Cheetos bag and other unidentifiable wrappers) near the collection site. Dug down an inch with a clean spoon and then collected the soil using the spoon to put about 5mL in a 14mL test tube. Outside temperature was 88°F or 31.1°C. It was clear skies and dark outside, and the sun had just set and it was not windy. GPS coordinates for the sample are N 33° 12' 54.331", W 97° 8' 54.931". |
