Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected at 7:36 AM CDT on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from the side of a pond located in the Wildwood neighborhood. The area had bits of sticks and wood chips. After removing the top foliage using some of the sticks, an approximately 2.5 cm wide and 2.5 cm deep hole was dug using a plastic spoon. The soil was dark and moist, and the ambient temperature of 22°C.
Naming NotesWe named our phage in honor of our wonderful scribe, Aleia Huff, who meticulously wrote down and sketched the procedures in the Lab notebook during the phage isolation process.
