Discovery Notes | This phage was found in a recessed area of a stream. The sample was collected from still water right after it had rained. the sample was taken from the surface of the water right at the edge of the pond. The sample was collected at approximately 5:30p.m. on 9/4/12 |
Naming Notes | We had allot of different ways that we could have named our bacteriophage. However, we decided on "waterdiva" because it was found from a pond water sample and we thought it could be a novel phage due to the exponential growth that it showed throughout the progression of its purification. |
