Discovery NotesThe weather outside for the discovery day was cloudy with a 50% chance of rain. The high that day was 33.9°C and the low was 23.9°C. We found Ikeloa underneath rich, moist, black mulch around bushes. In the surrounding area were worms and lots of organismal life.
Naming NotesThe SEA-PHAGES program that our school did was an incredible learning experience and we could not be more grateful for the opportunities to take part in such valuable research. The Hawaiian term "'Ike Loa" refers to the value of learning and knowledge, of growth and expanding your mind. We thought this beautiful phrase perfectly encapsulated our journey of phage-hunting and how appreciative we are to school and God that we may learn and grow in truth and knowledge.
