Discovery NotesThe sample was collected on 09/10/24, at 4:08 PM at the Barnes Arboretum at Saint Joseph’s University, 50 Lapsley Lane, Merion Station, PA 19066.

The sample was collected under a bush near a sidewalk, with sunny weather conditions present. There was likely little foot traffic present. The soil was dry, and the depth was approximately 5 cm deep. The ambient temperature was 27.2222 ⁰C. The ambient humidity was 41% , and there were sunny weather conditions present.
Naming NotesGlutenPhree was named after one of my lab partners, Nora Duval. Nora and I had collected our soil samples together. Before every biology or chemistry exam, Nora and I also studied together while eating gluten free muffins. Given my love for the prefix ph-, the name GlutenPhree was created.

Plaque NotesPhage yields clear plaques approximately 1mm in size after a 48 hour incubation period. Plaques have not been consistent in size despite multiple rounds of purification, with some plaques appearing larger than 1mm, and others significantly smaller. This variation is assumed to be characteristic of the phage.
