| Discovery Notes | The environmental sample containing the novel bacteriophage was obtained on 25th August 2014, at 7:48 P.M EDT and 27°C from the GPS Location of 42° 47’ 10’’N and 86°6’6’’W.The sample was collected from very moist soil at 4cm from the ground surface, in an urban setting that is 2m within the proximity of a cement structure. The surrounding environment from where the sample was obtained also included moderate amounts of shrubs and grasses, as well as compost matters. The environmental sample was then isolated and purified using the enrichment method, in which incubation occurred at 32°C over 48 hours. |
