Discovery NotesDeano was found from a soil sample collected on 8/21/14. Deano was found at 7:18pm and at 23 degrees Celsius. Deano was found near a compost pile in a rural area and was found at about 20 cm deep. Deano was grown and isolated at 32 degrees Celsius.
Sequencing Information
Sequencing Complete?No
Genome length (bp)Unknown
Character of genome endsUnknown
Fasta file available?No
Cluster Life CycleTemperate
Lysogeny NotesIt is unclear whether or not Deano produces plaques at 42 degrees Celsius, as experiment results came back inconclusive. My phage is not temperate, and instead lytic, and is not capable of producing a stable lysogen.
Annotating InstitutionUnknown or unassigned
Annotation StatusNot sequenced
Plaque NotesDeano' plaques were very light and clear. After 24 hours, Deano's plaques were clear and ranging from .5-1mm in diameter. After 48 hours, Deano's plaques were about 1-2mm in diameter. The plaques were very clear and didn't have any rings, bulls-eyes, or turbidity visible. Deano was grown and isolated at 32 degrees Celsius.
