Discovery NotesThe soil was relatively dry but a deep dark brown, with a rich earthy smell. There were some shallow grass root fragments mixed with differently sized clumps of soil. Site was at the base of a butternut tree aged over 100yrs. Fresh nuts in varying stages of decay were littered around the site, as well as ivy and fallen leaves. Soil was collected approximately 2cm below the surface, soil temp was approximately 20C at 9/10/2012 at 11:53pm EST.

Plaque NotesPlaques were approximately 2-2.5mm in diameter, with round, but irregular margins. If left to incubate beyond 24hours 'halos' begin to develop around the plaques that are more opaque than the initial plaque. Plaques forming close together are smaller than those that are well isolated.
