Discovery NotesThe soil was taken from a patch of dirt near bushes and a tree in the morning of Tuesday, 26 August 2024. The soil sample was collected near the left entrance of the Glaske Center of LeTourneau University. A hole was dug that was 8.89 cm wide, 7.62 cm length and 2 cm deep with a plastic spoon, then collected some soil for our sample in a Zip-lock bag. The soil was dark, loose, moist, had some sand and roots. The surrounding soil contained Grass, dead foliage, ants and worms. The weather was sunny with a mostly clear sky, no winds, but some Cumulus clouds. The ambient temperature was 30 °C.
Naming NotesWe originally wanted to name the phage "Koa" because it is Hawaiian for brave warrior. But the character minimum is 4 letters, so we added the "n" to the end of the word.
