Plaque Notes | Plaques plated on L-Agar with 7H9 top agar using Mycobacterium Smegmatis as a host produces plaques that range from 0.5mm-7mm in diameter. Half of the diameter in the middle of the plaque is a complete clearing while the other half of the diameter is a turbid ring. Plaques vary greatly in size when they are plated in high density while the size of each plaque becomes more consistent when plated at a lower density, settling at approximately 5mm. |
