Discovery Notes | I found it in a trough that was formed under a window. The trough was caused by rain runoff from a building. Soil sample was slightly moist and was collected and refrigerated for preservation. It was found using enriched isolation. |
Naming Notes | The name sources from the Hawaiian name of O' Ka Nui. This means Phage the Great. The phage was named this because I wanted a name that communicated it aggressive manner of eating a lot of bacteria. It created larger clearings in the bacteria surrounding it. |
