| Discovery Notes | The soil sample I collected was from the University of the Sciences campus on September 12, 2017 at 6:35pm. I went very deep into the soil, and it was moist. It was around a plant, and there is not much foot traffic there. It is close to buildings, and appears to be taken care of regularly. The soil was very dark and moist. |
| Naming Notes | The name ByChance was selected because seeing my phage is a very "by chance" type situation. In the beginning, actually seeing the phage was rare; it was there, but very small plaques and very hidden. Even as time went on, ByChance was still rarely seen and is density dependent showing one of the highest concentrations on its fourth dilution. But when you see ByChance, it is a beautiful occasion marked with much joy. |
