Discovery Notes | Discovered from a lysate of phage "Thonko" collected from Empangeni, South Africa by Nomusa Christina Mzimela. The lysate was plaque purified at the University of Pittsburgh, and this phage was discovered after plaque purification demonstrated two distinct plaque morphologies. |
