Discovery NotesThe phage was discovered on August 25, 2014 at 6:57pm. The ambient temperature was 82°F and the soil depth was 2cm. The soil was moist and located right underneath some bushes in front of Martha Miller Center on Hope College Campus.
Naming NotesMy friends have bestowed upon me the nickname hyperbowlee because I'm hyper most of the time and I had a bowl cut in 7th grade. It is also a pun on the word hyperbole.

Plaque NotesThe pure phage stock of Hyperbowlee resulted in a clear, circular plaque with fuzzy edges (Figure 1). Its morphology is very similar to that of D29; however, their size differences assure us that it is distinct from D29, which is smaller than Hyperbowlee. The plaque is also a little more turbid than that of D29. Hyperbowlee’s plaque ranged from 2 to 2.5 mm in diameter at 24 hours and 4.2 to 5.2 mm in diameter at 48 hours. Its maximum detected size was 5.6 mm in diameter. Its growth rate was thus determined to be approximately 0.102 mm/hour. Hyperbowlee was isolated and purified at 32°C and was able to grow at 42°C.
