Discovery NotesThe soil, collected from a depth of approximately 10 cm, came from a large outdoor flower pot containing various flowers.

The soil was enriched with M. smegmatis for 24 hours to acquire plaques, and plaque plates were prepared by spotting and incubating them for 48 hours.
Naming NotesThe phage was named after my brother and late best friend, who shared the same name.

Plaque NotesThe initial plaques acquired from enriched soil filtrates, prior to the purification of the phages, were few and exhibited both clear and turbid morphology.

After purification, there was a combination of turbid and clear plaques on the dilution plates prepared. A 10^-4 plate with both turbid and clear plaques was used to sample the phages for sequencing.
